Bangalore Royal Challengers 204 for 2 (Kallis 89*, Uthappa 51) beat Kings XI Punjab 203 for 3 (Bopara 77, Bisla 73) by eight wickets
What a wonderfully paced innings from Kallis. What a stunner from Robin and don’t forget watch Manish who played a cameo
Over 400 runs were scored on a belter of a wicket, it looked like RCB would struggle initially as both Kallis and Pandey took their time to settle in. But once they did that it was no stopping them, especially Pandey who gave the innings momentum. Uthappa was promoted and he showed that he still has it – notching up the 2nd fastest fifty in the IPL ever – doing so in 19 balls. He tore apart Sreesanth, belting him for 25 runs in one over, which turned the game RCB’s way. Still Kallis had to bat through the innings and he did so, slamming Bipul Sharma for 23 runs in the 18th over when the game seemed to be getting close for everyone’s comfort. It was a splendid effort from Kallis, who continues to amaze for the way he performs so consistently. All in all a perfect Ugadi day for all Bangaloreans who celebrated the victory with lots of fireworks..

Chennai Super Kings 164 for 3 (Dhoni 66*, Badrinath 43*) beat Kolkata Knight Riders 109 (Kemp 3-12) by 55 runs
MS Dhoni and S Badrinath added an unbroken 109-run stand from 65 deliveries to push Chennai Super Kings to a competitive total in Eden Gardens. Chennai were wobbling at 55 for 3 in the 10th over when Dhoni joined Badrinath to slowly change things around.
MS Dhoni, who was slow to begin with, quickly brought up his fifty as he took Chennai to 164/3 after 20 overs.

Forty-five days of non-stop entertainment- here comes the IPL 2010 season 3 that is scheduled from March 12th –April 25th and this time the twenty20 matches will be played in India, which has brought a big cheer to the cricket fans. The year’s greatest spectacle of sports and entertainment will serve sixty T20 matches that will be played between eight teams and fans can either catch their favorite team in the stadium or the live telecast of all the matches on their television sets.
The curtain raising ceremony of the IPL 3 took place at the DY Patil Stadium at Navi Mumbai.
The eight teams of the event Kolkata Knight Riders, Deccan Chargers, Bangalore Royal Challengers, Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals and the Daredevils will be honored and the first official game between Deccan Chargers and the Kolkata Knight Riders will get a flying
The event had performances rendered by Ali Campbell, Bjorn Again, pop star Lionel Ritchie and Bollywood hottie Deepika Padukone along with group of dancers who set the stage on fire. Ravi Shastri, the emcee of the evening, delivered the welcome address to the audience, inviting Shashank Manohar, the President of the BCCI, to say a few words. Chairman and Commissioner Lalit Modi was introduced as the spectators roared in unison.
