Bangladesh shown alround performance to win the first test match. Unfortunately because of Danial Vettori Bangladesh lost the 1st Test match. I am sure that Bangladesh will win the 2nd test match and will draw the series at home.

After single handedly dismissing New Zealand for 171 with record 7 for 36, Shakib Al Hasan took the centre stage with bat to settle the wobbling Bangladesh innings on the third day of the first Test match at Divisional Stadium in Chittagong today. Shakib’s valiant 71 stretched Bangladesh’s lead to 258 as the hosts ended the day on 184 for 8.
Bangladesh were firmly in command on 175 for 5 with a 249 run lead, but late strikes from Kiwi skipper Daniel Vettori brought New Zealand back into the match.

What a good return by Bangladesh, Bangladesh are on top and they have done well, Shakib was outstanding bowled non-stop from one end to pick up 6 wickets and Ashraful made good bowling changes at the other end. Vettori is batting well and he is unbeaten on 48 and New Zealand still trail by 90 runs with one wicket in hand.

An unbeaten 5th wicket record 139 run partnership between Mehrab Hossain Jr. and Mushfiqur Rahim helped Bangladesh to resurrect their innings after a disasterous start on the first day of the first Test at Divisional Stadium in Chittagong today. Bangladesh finished the day on 184/4 after the hosts won the toss and opted to bat first on a placid surface. Bangladesh started their innings overcautiously after losing Zuaned Siddique in the 7th ball of the innings. Bangladesh batsmen were more concerned on keeping the wicket intact than scoring runs. This go-slow approach didn’t help Bangladesh as the tourists quickly moved on top and reduced Bangladesh to 44/4 after 43 overs

1st Test Newzealand vs Bangladesh at Chittagong (CDS) - Oct 17-21, 2008
Match scheduled to begin at 09:30 local time (03:30 GMT).
After winning the ODI series by Newzealand, they are very confident to play with Bangladesh even they are visitors.
New Zealand have added off-spinner Jeetan Patel to the starting line-up alongside left-arm spinner Vettori while uncapped batsman Jesse Ryder was also included.
Bangladesh, who have won just one of their 53 Tests, also named two spinners - Abdur Razzak and Shakib Al Hasan - beside spinning all-rounders Mehrab Hossain and Naeem Islam.
