Shakib’s valiant 71 stretched Bangladesh’s lead to 258 as the hosts ended the day on 184 for 8.

Bangladesh were firmly in command on 175 for 5 with a 249 run lead, but late strikes from Kiwi skipper Daniel Vettori brought New Zealand back into the match.
