Delhi bowlers wrecked the Rest of India batting, dismissing them for 252 in the first innings on day one of Irani Trophy here on Wednesday.
Ishant Sharma (3-22) bent his back to extract bounce from the docile track to trouble India’s mainline batsmen. He was well supported by young left-arm pacer Pradeep Sangwan (3-57) and leg-spinner Chetanya Nanda who got the ball to turn and bounce to claim three for 60.
Openers Akash Chopra (16) and Gautam Gambhir (4) were at the crease as Delhi ended the day at 21

Australian captain Ricky Ponting said on Sunday he was hopeful next month’s four-Test cricket series with India will be played in the right spirit.
The 15-man Australian squad left late Sunday with only four players armed with Test match experience in India.
The nations were beginning in an unfriendly series in Australia this year with Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh banned for three matches for allegedly racially abusing Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds during the second Test in Sydney in January.
Australia Is looking for big victory vs. India at least this year. Since they had very bad experience in past because of Harbajan Singh in India. Harbajan Since has very good series-es with Australia. He has taken wickets like anything. I am sure Australia team will definitely remember 2001 series. They never forgot that series.

Batting superstar Sachin Tendulkar will be available for India’s upcoming Test series against Australia despite racing against time to be fit.
Tendulkar will be replaced by Subramaniam Badrinath in the Rest of India squad that takes on Ranji Trophy champions Delhi in the five-day Irani Cup match in Vadodara.
The Indian squad for the first Test in Bangalore will be named after the match.
Tendulkar, a veteran of 150 Tests, needs 77 runs to overtake retired West Indian Brian Lara’s record tally of 11,953 runs and become Test cricket’s highest run-getter.
The Indian already has a record 39 Test and 42 One-day centuries and is also the world’s leading ODI batsman with 16,361 runs from 417 matches.
Tendulkar is hoping to make amends for a poor series in Sri Lanka, where his highest score was 31 in three Tests which the hosts won 2-1.
The world’s most senior cricketer, who made his Test debut in 1989, has been plagued by a spate of injuries in recent times and under-went corrective surgery on his left elbow in 2005.
Tendulkar injured the elbow again while attempting to take a catch in the third Test in Sri Lanka last month and missed the subsequent ODI series.
